Born and raised in North Dakota, Travis has called Minnesota home for the better part of the last decade. After earning a degree in Criminal Justice at North Dakota State University, he pursued his law degree at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, graduating with honors in 2017. While in law school, Travis benefited from diverse range of experiences which included interning at a Fortune 500 company and practicing as a student attorney in a large State’s Attorney’s office.

Travis began working for Merrigan, Brandt & Ostenso, P.A. in 2017, but could not pass up an opportunity to serve in the U.S. Army JAG Corps from 2018-2022. As a JAG attorney, his diversity of experience grew further. Travis spent time prosecuting crimes as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and Military Justice attorney in Maryland. He then went on to serve as the Deputy Command Judge Advocate for the Army’s largest air and missile defense command, where he was responsible for providing accurate and timely legal adviceto the Commanding General and staff sections across a full spectrum of legal disciplines, including administrative, national security, criminal, and fiscal law.

Re-joining the firm in 2022, Travis now enjoys putting  his diversity of experience to work for his clients in the areas of estate planning, probate, litigation, military, and business law and other areas. In his free time, he  enjoys cycling, golfing, fishing, and everything else the Twin Cities has to offer.
